We are especially pleased to have formed an "Of Counsel" relationship with attorney Richard Kolb with whom our attorneys have worked for over forty years. Richard Kolb is known statewide for his work in probate litigation, as he has focused his practice on that area for the past 30 years, and has successfully handled hundreds of probate litigation cases. Due to his considerable knowledge and experience in probate litigation, he has been able to assist in drafting probate-related legislation in Ohio.

He also has extensive experience handling estate administrations, difficult guardianships, and estate planning. He is a leading expert in matters involving psychiatric law, incompetence, diminished capacity, especially in regard to how those issues relate to probate litigation, estate administrations, guardianships and other probate matters.
He obtained his juris doctorate degree from the Ohio State College of Law in 1967. He spent three years in the United States Army as an infantry officer, and served in a one year tour of Vietnam. During his military career, he served as counsel in several hundred trials before military tribunals. He then worked one year as an Adjudicator for the Veterans' Administration in Newark, New Jersey. Beginning in 1972, he spent five years in the Union County, New Jersey Prosecutor's Office, a large metropolitan prosecutor's office with over 40 lawyers and 300 other law enforcement personnel. There, he handled more than 100 jury trials, including several major trials, and rose from the bottom to the top of that office.
In 1978, he established his own practice in Columbus, Ohio. In 2001, Blumenstiel Falvo LLC was fortunate to add J. Michael Evans to its team, where he continues to successfully represent clients throughout Ohio.
